From The Changes Of Language Form To See The Transition Of Chili’s Writing Style In Her Earlier And Later Works

Chi Li is a very important writer on contemporary literature. She became popular in theliterary world because of the creation of "Life Trilogy"("Worried Life","talk about love","Sun born") in1987. By the1990s, Chi Li has created a large number of literary workswhich loved by reader, including "coming and going","Good Morning, Miss,""Life Show",etc, and many works have been adapted for film and television. Chi Li reached so popular inliterature because of her creative transformation. This article will make Chili’s creationsdivide into two periods, and focus on changes of the forms of language which concludeChili’s early and later period’s representative works:"Worried Life" and "Coming and Going"to reflect Chili’s writing style changes. Finally, we discuss the reasons for the transformationof Chili.This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. It mainlyelaborates the necessity of researching the transformation, current overview, innovation andmethod of Chili’s research. The second chapter uses a combination of qualitative andquantitative methods to indicate Chili’s change of language form in early and later days withspecific works, and mainly compare the works’ pronunciation, vocabulary, syntax, rhetoric.The third chapter undertakes the second chapter. It describes the changes of Chili’s stylecarefully from the reflection of the second chapter. It becomes the explanation with specificexamples in the aspects of language style’s change and performance of the content’s change.The language style’s changes are from plain to ornate, from simple to complex, break the"Han flavor" to the international. The performance of the content’s change also compare inthree ways. They are from troubled family life to the city of debauchery, from real life to thevagaries of life, from the description of the lack of substance to the show of spiritualemptiness. The final chapter is to explore the reasons for the transformation of Chili. Itdivides the external and internal reasons. External reasons are the implementation of themarket economy and the rise of popular culture. The internal reasons are to meet the needs ofreaders and to meet the needs of survival. It is under the combined effects of external andinternal reasons, Chi Li was able to achieve the transformation of creation.
