Pronouns, a kind of part of speech, are closed, frequently used and rich-featured. Compared to mandarin and other dialects, pronouns of Gushi dialect have some similarities and differences in forms, grammar and pragmatics. However, the systematic investigation on pronouns of Gushi dialect is a blank space. With the method of diachronic comparison supplemented, this thesis mainly uses the synchronic description. In order to present the pronouns of Gushi dialect a detailed characteristics, a multi-faceted appearance and grasp its essence, the thesis, if necessary, also uses the way of synchronic comparison with mandarin, other dialects, and the system itself.This thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter one is introduction, generally showing the geographical location, administrative region, population and the history of Gushi county. It describes the system of consonants, vowels, tones and characteristics of pronunciation of Gushi dialect, then outlines the current achievements on research of pronouns in Chinese dialects, as well as illustrates the reasons, the goals and significances of this study.Chapter two analyses and describes the singular-plural forms, senses and functions of personal pronouns. The singular wo(我)has no plural forms, while an(俺)has usages of including and excluding in both singular and plural forms. Wo (我), an (俺),ni (你),ta (他,) all pronounce rising tone, and the plural markers of three-personal pronouns are liangguan (两倌),men (们), and jige (几个). There are no general personal pronouns in system of non-three-personal pronouns.Chapter three introduces the demonstrative pronouns. The demonstrative pronouns of Gushi dialect belong to trisection, that is, demonstratives denoting location, person or thing, time, property, state, degree or manner and so on are three-divided. Nie (也) which is probably the combination pronunciation of renjia (人家), overlaps na(那) in functions and forms. With influence of mandarin, the feature for trisection of demonstrative pronouns in Gushi dialect is gradually becoming dichotomy.Chapter four, through describing the the usages of six basic interrogative pronouns, analyses three characteristics of interrogative pronouns.Chapter five is a summary. It concludes three characteristics of pronouns in Gushi dialect. Firstly, pronouns system in Gushi dialect has characteristics of both official and southern languages. Secondly, the forms and functions of some pronouns in Gushi dialect are connected with ancient Chinese. Thirdly, there are characteristics of chorus on pronunciation aspect. What’s more, the tones of three-personal and demonstrative pronouns are same.
