The new course standard put some fresh requirements on the music education o f the students in primary schools and middle schools. It not only requires the society t o open and develop music courses actively, but it also put more strict requirements on teachers. As we all know that piano plays an irreplaceable role in the aspects of the sol o and accompany performances. It is tragic that when teachers cannot play music in m usic appreciation classes; and vocal music teachers cannot accompany the music by th e exact music modes. Based on the current job market situation, most of music major students in advanced normal universities work on the music teachers in primary or mi ddle schools. In order to enhance the ability on piano instrument playing, it is necessar y to take strict and systematic training on these students. This paper aims to do the inv estigation on the piano group-work studies by the methods of document analysis, ques tionnaire, data analysis, comparison and listing technique on music major (focus on th e branch of education of teachers) in Shanxi Taiyuan Normal University.First chapter is mainly the illustration of the importance of piano group-study cl ass. Piano group-study class as an important class in advanced normal universities and totally different the traditional one-to-one teaching class. By the way, it is a good poi nt to promote the investigation.The second chapter is mainly to make some suggestions and evidences on the c ountermeasure after investigate the group-work study in Shanxi Taiyuan Normal Univ ersity by the methods of experimentation, meeting, investigation, questionnaire and so me reading some experiment reports. Analyze the teaching situation by the aspects oft eachers, students, environment and so on.The third chapter is to make a complete teaching system after summarize the co nclusion by doing the investigation and linking theories with realityThe forth chapter using the instance analysis, objective to present the content of the class, encourage students to independent scientific practice, enrich their own comprehensive quality in an all-round way.This paper stresses the point of under the on the specific background and situati on, how to improve the quality of piano group-work study classes in advanced normal universities in a short period. In the same time, this paper focuses on the concept of" mutual benefit between teachers and students". The illustration of this principle is to a rrange the teaching practice properly, improve students’ music accomplishment and sa tisfy the demand of social development.
