A Research On Normal University Piano Teaching And Learning

Education plays a pivotal role in developing talents for our nation. Especially, elementary education not only contributes to the improvement of national quality, but also carries the responsibility to provide talents for colleges and universities. Therefore, focusing on elementary education as well as the cultivating of qualified teachers is significantly indispensable. The training objective of Music Education Major in normal university is to develop music teachers for schools at basic level, and piano teaching is an important part of fostering qualified teachers. At present, some problems concerning normal university piano teaching and learning exist in practical teaching and learning, so in this thesis, main efforts are put in the analysis of real problems in music education from the perspective of piano teaching and learning. The author intends to find out these problems by questionnaires, and then analyzes the possible reasons for these problems, so that some measures can be proposed as reference for future education practice.This thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter One elaborates the significance, current status and task of this research topic. Chapter Two mainly covers the whole process of making questionnaires, sending questionnaires to students graduated or going to graduate from music education major in Hunan’s four universities, and then collecting these questionnaires to carry on the following statistical analysis. In Chapter Three, according to the results of questionnaires, problems in students’ learning are revealed, which in turn reflects some problems in normal university piano teaching. Hence, further research is on the reasons of these problems. Chapter Four is dedicated to proposing some measures for problems existing in piano teaching of normal university music education major so as to provide reference for practical piano education in the future.
