Study On "Shibi" In Tang Legend

Tang Legend perfected the system of Chinese classical novels, it’sthe first peak of creation in the history of Chinese novels. In Yun Man LuChao, Zhao Yanwei put forwarded that Tang Legend had a feature of"Shibi", but he didn’t give any specific explanation about the feature. Thispaper that purpose to make a relatively comprehensive understandingabout the feature will discuss four aspects to probe into "Shibi" based onWang Pijiang’s Tang Fictions.Firstly, the paper is mainly the "Shibi" implication limits. Throughstatistics and analysis the number of articles in Tangs Fictions,investigate time background and analysis features of Tang Legend thatdraw conclusions: on the one hand, it refers to the direct poems in thenovels, and on the other hand the implicit one refers to the use oflanguage and poetic particularity.Secondly, this paper probes into two features of Tang LegendSpecifically. It mainly focuses on five aspects about poems of novels,such as poetic style, the way of poems appeared, the writer of poems, thesituation of recorded on The Entire Tang poem and compared with poemsin the Huaben Novels of the Song and Yuan Dynasties. And researchingthe use of language mainly focuses on parallel style and dual; As theunderstanding of poetic particularity mainly focuses on romance and falseor true complement of love, gods and spirits story, especially creation ofpoetical mood.Thirdly, the reasons why "Shibi" has been widely used in TangLegend, this paper suggests that four influencing aspects can’t be ignored: before Tang Dynasty novel’s,select officials by the evaluation of thecandidates’ poems or rhyming, Fu style, SuJiang﹑BianWen and SuFu.Lastly, this paper emphasizes that "Shibi" as a kind of artisticfeatures has been widely used by writers in Tang Legend that means ithas some functions inevitably. So this part will research it’s functions inthe following four aspects, such as emotional expression﹑promotiondevelopment of plot﹑creation of poetical mood and add new perspective.Through theoretical analysis,"Shibi" is one important feature ofTang Legend laid a tradition of writing poems in the novel and opened upa path for the following classical novels. This thesis will attention to theconnotation﹑feature﹑reason﹑narrative function in order to make asystematic discussion into "Shibi"—one of the "writing style "features ofTang Legend.
