The Logic Thinking To Inductive Dilemma By Reichenbach

Induction is a reasoning method which is from individual fact of experience to general conclusion.However,Hume has pointed out induction dilemma is embodied in the transition which is from individual fact of experience to general conclusion is not a logical necessity of universality, the logic of leap is not fully guaranteed.Later, some scholars attempt to justify that induction is legal, Reichenbach’s way of thinking is one of the representative. Reichenbach firstly pointed out that the inductive conclusion is probabilistic statements about the future knowledge, and inductive reasoning is a kind of process which identified limit according to the experience for events with a nature in order to predict the future knowledge.The defense idea above put forward the solution to the legality of inductive reasoning on the practical problems,but there are also some inherent deficiencies,for example,under the condition of its theoretical background, scientific knowledge lose the common inevitably and absolute reliability and become a probabilistic description of nature, calling for further exploration of the induction.
