To support the development of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages, we need to cultivate more excellent teachers. Therefore, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council set up a master’s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in2007, and began to develop Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL). There are three universities in Guangxi to recruit MTCSOL Guangxi is adjacent to the ASEAN nations, the exchanges and cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN are frequent, thus the MTCSOL professional curriculum should be for the ASEAN nations.The aim of the study on curriculums of MTCSOL in three universities is discovering their problems and proposing solutions, and exploring for the MTCSOL curriculum philosophy for ASEAN nations.Comparative analysis, questionnaire, interview and comprehensive analysis are used as the research methods in this paper. Firstly, the article summarizes the knowledge and the ability of Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) by analyzing "Standards for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages"("TCSOL Standards"). Then we analyze "Guidance Training Program of MTCSOL"(version07and version09) issued by the curriculum Degrees Committee of the State Council, compare the MTCSOL curriculums of three universities in Guangxi, analyze their similarities and differences, advantages and disadvantages. Next we analyze the results of questionnaires and interviews to the MTCSOL and the classroom teachers of three universities in Guangxi.Base on the above research, we found that the curriculum designing and implementation in three universities need to be improved:(1) Some students’ relevant professional knowledge is lack (such as Chinese and linguistic knowledge), and our curriculum haven’t solve this problem;(2) The foreign language courses should be strengthened;(3) Some courses are considered needless;(4) Two universities didn’t design the theoretical knowledge of pedagogy and psychology;(5) The content of cultural lessons is not relevant and practical;(6) The implementation of curriculum issues, such as lack of qualified teachers, teaching management needs to be strengthened, the problems of students.To solve the above problems, this paper proposes some practical suggestions:(1) We propose targeted and characteristic training objectives:Train complex, application-oriented internationalized expert, whom have abilities of teaching Chinese as a second language, good skills of Dissemination of Chinese culture, adapt to the international promotion of Chinese language especially in Southeast Asia, with a second foreign language or Chinese culture talent, and be capable of a variety of high-level teaching tasks.(2) According to the training objectives, we proposed to a Chinese culture talent MTCSOL training school or a second foreign language MTCSOL training school, and list the corresponding curriculum program.(3) We discussed curriculum implementation approach from the aspects of teachers, teaching and students:Building a high level of faculty; Strengthen teaching management, implement the curriculum; Strengthen students’ ideological education professionals, to mobilize their self-management, increase their learning initiative.
