Research On Zou Wenqin’s Teaching Art Of Vocal Music

Zou Wenqin was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province in1942. She is a famous singer and an vocal educator in China, and now the professor of Acoustic Song Department of China Conservatory of Music, vice chairman of Chinese Vocal Music Association, vice chairman of Chinese International Vocal Music Art Research Association, director of China National Vocal Music Society. During her vocal music career for more than60years, she "has an insatiable desire to learn, and is tireless in teaching others"(Confucius). Zou Wenqin started her professional music education in Middle School Attached to Central Conservatory of Music late1950s. With more than50years of learning and stage singing practice accumulated and summarized, she has put forward her own teaching philosophy and teaching style. She has poured all efforts in teaching, and has trained a large number of outstanding singers, such as:Wu Bixia, Han Hong, Gong Linna, Yan Dangdang, Lei Jia, Wu Jing, Lv Hongwei and so on, she has made an important contribution to improve vocal music teaching theory and performing arts in China. However, her teaching methods and theories of vocal music have not been researched systematically, therefore, this paper tries to make a systematic research on her teaching art of vocal music with the topic "Research on Zou Wenqin’s teaching art of vocal music".This paper mainly consists of the following parts:The introduction part is about the background, review, main contents, research methods and ideas of this paper. The first part is about Zou Wenqin’s biography and her vocal music road, her growth environment and educational background which has made great influence on her character and career is narrated in this part. The second part is about Zou Wenqin’s teaching philosophy of vocal music, contents of singing teaching such as natural singing, music performance, music style are discussed in this chapter, which are the contents during her decades’s teaching life. The third part is about Zou Wenqin’s vocal music teaching practice, her teaching practice such as vocal skill, body performance and aesthetic appeal for vocal music performance and so on are researched detailedly in this chapter. The fourth part is about Zou Wenqin’s achievements of teaching. The last part is the conclusion of this paper, Zou Wenqin’s main influence on teaching of vocal music in China is discussed and an evaluation on her value is given.
