Memory And Identity

From the perspective of historical consciousness, this thesis focused onartists in the contemporary diversified context of “traditional-modern” and“local-exotic”, discussed that as identified independent individuals under specificculture and history, they regarded “cultural memories” as huge energy andavailable resource and consciously took part in the historical reconstruction ofmajor culture and the reformation of traditional culture type with exploratory andinnovative artistic practice, attempting to bridge the gap between the breakage ofcultural memories (caused by historical reasons) and the future direction ofconceived culture, and expounded the positive functions and meanings of artists’practice in the process of national culture consciousness.
