Liao Yimei is a high-profile and talented female writer in the world of ChineseOpera in recent years. Her works, no mater dramas, novels or even movies, are allresponded enthusiastically. This paper takes Liao Yimei herself and her works asresearch objects, and explains from the dimensions of humanism and text. Theso-called“humanism”,namely the research of main body in creation, is mainlyinterpreted from Liao’s life experience and creative experience, including particularfemales, sensitive nerve, poetic soul and adherence to literature,in order to study thegeneration of main body and creative style.The research of text starts from contentsand forms, dividing into love poetics, pessimistic philosophy, and formal aesthetics.“Love poetics”puts an emphasis on studying some of Liao Yimei’s pioneer dramas，sorting out the motif of love representation in her dramas, which includes paranoidlove, miracle of love, the transsexual’s love and pure love. This investigates theinnovation and evolution in her love narration, uncovering the further implications ofexploring life origin by inspecting love as human’s basic emotion.“Pessimisticphilosophy”is also a question that intersects Liao Yimei’s works; this will mainlyresearch on Liao’s drama of“Pessimistic Trilogy”and novel The Flower ofPessimism, with deep excavation and illustration, in order to explore her thoughts andpresentation of ego and solitude, perfection and imperfection, survival and dilemma,pessimism and tragedy, and to explicate the author’s efforts to explore the value andmeaning of individual life. The “formal aesthetics”mainly explore the variety ofartistic expressions for Liao’s works, including the principle of acme aestheticism, theform of pioneer drama, the art of film narration,and the feature of poetic-style novel,and conduct a specific analysis on text, as well as evaluate the uniqueness and valueof such expression forms. On the basis of such investigation, this paper ultimatelymakes a conclusion on the significance, limitations and enlightenment of Liao’s works.This paper aims to have a relatively complete overall understanding andcomprehensive assessment on Liao Yimei herself and her works, and to highlight theunique value and meaning, as well as to present the connection of such uniquenessand modern cultural integrity.
