Analysis And Evaluation Of The Competitiveness Of Cultural Industry In Hubei Province

The21st century is the century of culture. The opinion that culture determines the strength of a State is growing in popularity. A strong culture or not will determine whether a State could become a world power in the true sense.70-80years in the last century, the manufacturing is the center of the world economy. With the constant advances in technology and the development of economy and society, the center of the world economy has shifted to services and knowledge in the1990s.Today, manufacturing and other traditional industries revive weakly. Culture Industry as a new driving force for economic growth gets more and more attention around the world. They were pushed to the fore for economic development in many countries. In2012, the cultural construction in China has made positive progress, the cultural industry has gradually become a new economic growth point. Many regions even take culture industry as a regional strategic industry to support. Hubei Province has a rich cultural heritage, intensive cultural talents, rich cultural resources and a long cultural history. Although the cultural industry in Hubei Province gained rapid development, but there are still many problems.This paper uses qualitative analysis, comparative analysis, quantitative analysis for study of the culture industry in Hubei Province. It collected a large number of the latest statistical data to make sure the analysis results’objectivity and science. This paper first describes the theoretical and practical significance of the study, then it studies the concept of culture industry, classification of culture and related industries, the development of the theory of industrial competitiveness, which laid the theoretical foundation for further study; In the third chapter, it conducted a preliminary analysis of the competitive situation of culture industry of Hubei Province, summed up the characteristics of the culture industry and the current development situation, showing the status of industrial development. In the fourth chapter, the paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system that can be more fully reflect the culture industry competitiveness. In the last, the article puts forward some suggestions to improve the competitiveness of the culture industry in Hubei province based on qualitative and quantitative analysis before.There are also some shortcomings of this paper. Because of the culture industry statistics in China is still in the early stage, the culture industry sub-sector data is difficult to obtain. So this article did not follow the initial plan to study the structure of the culture industry in Hubei Province. Hope this can be improved in subsequent studies.
