Research On Culture Industry Competitiveness Evaluation Of Shaanxi Province

At present, with the increasing of interaction and blending between culture andeconomy, politics, science, technology, the role culture plays and its status in thecompetition of comprehensive national strengths are becoming prominent. Under thiscircumstance, the culture industry which plays a significant role in promoting countryand regional development, is also known as the "sunrise industry" in the21st century.Shaanxi Province, as one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization, which has a longhistory, rich cultural resources has the huge potential to promote the cultural industries.In recent years, the government of Shaanxi province has been highly concerned aboutthe development of cultural industries, but because of many other factors, the basicpattern " rich cultural resources, poor industries" of this large province—ShaanxiProvince has not changed. Therefore, study of cultural industry competitivenessevaluation of Shaanxi Province is significant on both theoretical and practical aspects toenhance the cultural industry development in Shaanxi Province and to promote regionalcompetitive strength.According to the theories about competitiveness of the cultural industries, thewriter put Porter’s "diamond model" as a theoretical basis and clarified the impactfactors of the cultural industries into: core influencing factors, the basic impact factorsand environmental impact factors and further clarified into some refinement factors. Itincluded five important factors: production, demand conditions, related industries, thecompetitiveness of enterprises and government action and so on. The thesis describedthe status of the development of cultural industry in Shaanxi Province, analyzed thestrengths and weaknesses of its development; also built the cultural industry competitiveness evaluation index system, with the application of factor analysis methodto evaluate the competitiveness of the cultural industry in Shaanxi Province, and got theresult that the current competitiveness of the cultural industry in Shaanxi Province wasin the middle level in our country; Combined with the evaluation results, pointed outthat Shaanxi Province should further establish and improve the cultural industry policiesand regulations system, to broaden the investment and financing channels, and cultivatecultural consumption, put emphasis on the innovative talents of the cultural industriesand start to enhance the competitiveness level of the cultural industry.The innovation of this thesis: used the latest available data, built a cultural industrycompetitiveness evaluation index system, and used factor analysis method of thecompetitiveness of the cultural industry in Shaanxi Province to evaluate and analyze thedata.
