Shi Pingmei, the actress of “Taoran Butterfly”, The tragic figure of "ModernLovers". It seems that when we mention this famous woman writer in the ChineseModern Literature, people will only remember her interpretation of Chinese-style"Ghost" story. History is also interesting to choose her as the "Red Lovers" and "TheMerry talented woman" image to stand together with the revolutionary Gao Junyu.This image widely circulated on Shi Pingmei is a kind of injustice and regret.Although the choice of history must have its reasonable reasons, when were-open her works, find her at the edge of mainstream literature, restore her and herworks to the May Fourth Movement among the primary venue, then we will find thevalue and significance of her works was obscured by history. We consciously orunconsciously ignore her and her works.Shi Pingmei, as one of the first awakening educated women in the the historyof modern Chinese literature. She involved in the hurricane Age of Enlightenment,experienced many complex inner struggles. When she shouted tragic and pulled offthe inner voices, can we hear the collective aspirations of the women in that era whois anguish and anxiety, Shi Pingmei can be the representative of the women in thatdays.So re-read for Shi Pingmei herself and her literary works is very important. Itssignificance lies not only restore certain facts or emotions so-called "real", but alsobecause we are in the process of re-interpretation to explore a broader more generalsense of the value of life and gender. So that we can stand on the edge of theviewing angle so as to be more objective look at the center positon of the May FourthEnlightenment discourse. So as to construct a new special significance in theconventional value of deconstruction.
