A Study On The Communication And Change Of Hui People’s Marriage Custom Culture In Zhangjiachuan

Each nation has its own special marriage custom. The contents and ceremonies ofmarriage custom from each nation are different in different district. As one of China’sethnic minorities, the marriage custom of Hui Nationality have retained the basic maincharacteristics from Islam and it was influenced parts of characteristics from Hanpeople’s culture.Zhangjiachuan County is one of the most concentrated areas of Hui Nationalitypopulation. Therefore, the author chosen own hometown Zhangjiachuan County as theinvestigation area and investigated Hui people’s marriage custom culture. Up to now,the scholars have focused on the content and form of marriage. The marriage customsbased on folklore perspective is studied in this paper. The literature is analyzed andinvestigated in this field. The traditional marriage custom in content and form from theperspective of Marx’s communication theory are discussed. The Hui people’s customsare analyzed in Zhangjiachuan. The facts and some new facts incurrent that influencedtraditional marriage customs are studied in Zhangjiachuan.This thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is an introduction,including the background and significance of writing and the study domestic andinternational research. The second chapter has discussed the related theory and conceptabout the thesis. The third chapter has discussed background of marriage custom cultureand prepares for the following discussion. The fourth chapter has described the Huipeople’s traditional marriage custom and the course of wedding, and analyzing forkphenomena of marriage custom and discussing the normative role of the fork inZhangjiachuan. The fifth chapter has analyzed the changes with the development ofmarriage custom, including reasonable and unreasonable aspects. This chapter also has analyzed some new factors with the development of marriage custom. The sixth chapterhas analyzed some factors influencing marriage custom culture. The last chapter hasevaluated the change of marriage custom culture. It has discussed positive and negativeeffects in the change of marriage custom culture.By analyzing this thesis, there is a close relationship between the naturalenvironment and human environment in Zhangjiachuan. The marriage custom culture isregional, religious and various. In particular, its impact is more obvious in Islam. Huipeople’s marriage customs as a unique folk culture reflect all aspects of people’s beliefs,material life, and social life, to the unique way to show the charm of local culture. TheHui people’s marriage customs culture change only in appearances and ceremonies inthe process of communication, and its essence is in line with Islam. The normative roleof folk culture is constant.
