As an important part of animated expression, color hasn’t been taken seriouslyby animation industry in our country. The United States and Japan of animation havetheir own style in the use of color and creators,and all creators pay great attention tothe relationship between color and scenes or color for characters. Compared with this,there are many shortcomings on these aspects in our country’s animation. For thecolor expression in characters designs, this paper is mainly to explore several basicquestions about our country’s animation as following:(ⅰ) Relation to whole pictures;Fitting into the large-scale scene, the color to characters has to be more rich andplentiful.Nowadays, a lot of excellent animation is focused on the transforms ofplots and design of characters and scenes and post production. However, they haveignored the whole color matches and echoes of characters color to scenescolor.(ⅱ)The effects of color matches to image mold; Image mold is not only refer tothe appearances of characters, but also the shape of personality and psychologicalhint to spectators.(ⅲ)How to break the dull color styles and win a wider spectators.Besides this, to seek inspiration from traditional culture of China and actively absorbexperience of excellent works at home and abroad is also an important issue. The firstpart of this paper introduces the background, significance and methodology.Startingfrom the concept of color and character design, the chapter two to chapter four ismainly focused on the relationship between them. The fifth chapter is to analyze therelationship between scene color and character color with practical cases. Under thedifferent cultural backgrounds, color psychology which is the principal factor todetermine one country’s animation color is also different. Chapter eight is mainly toexplore the use of color in traditional culture and art in our country. To shape ourcountry’s animation style, the first thing is to understand various traditional cultureand art and national psychology cognition of color. At the same time, combined withmy knowledge, the specific meaning of color is also presented in this chapter. The lastchapter will make a summing up for this paper. China acts as a large populationcountry that doesn’t seem to have shortcomings of great ideas and creativity. What welack is the action to put the thoughts into practice. we need study the experience fromabroad and traditional culture of our own country,excellent techniques. For the better future of our country’s animation,we will keep learning and We do believe Chineseanimation style can affect the whole world.
