In the period of post-financial crisis, China economy declined again after a stageof investment incentives. As the cornerstone of the economy, manufacturing has alsoappeared fallen trends. The new government has developed new strategy of industrialupgrading. At the same time, we found cultural industry has attracted the countryleaders’ attention. More and more policy has been introduced in cultural industryfield. It all depends on the economic characteristics of cultural industry, like highvalue-added, high penetration and so on. These characteristics can not only makeindustrial convergence more easily, but also promote the traditional industryupgrading.Based on this background, the article will research the affect of cultural industrypromote manufacturing upgrading in the perspective of industrial convergence. Byreading the literatures, we can find lots of the scholars just used theoretical analysis,and almost no empirical analysis. So this article hope to discuss the relationshipbetween the two factors as detailed as possible by theoretical analysis and empiricalanalysis to remedy the existing literatures’ inadequate.In the respect, this article first explores the reason of the industrial convergence,and summarized four kinds of convergence mode with its processing. Then, from thestarting of the manufacturing upgrading’ s definition, the article emphasized how canthe two industries convergence promoting manufacturing upgrading from the threepaths of manufacturing internal structure upgrading, manufacturing internal productupgrading and the value chain upgrading.In the part of empirical analysis, this article analyses the current situation of theconvergence degree of cultural industry and manufacturing, whether the convergencecan promote manufacturing upgrading by convergence degree analysis, couplingcoordination degree analysis and Granger causality test. This paper concludes thefollowing conclusions: the convergence degree of cultural industry andmanufacturing in China is low compared to the America’s outcome; the overallcoupling coordination degree of cultural industry and manufacturing is rising in the past18years, and has reached primary coordination stage; Granger causality test hasfurther certified the clear promoting effect from industrial convergence tomanufacturing upgrading by upgrading the proportion of knowledge-intensiveindustry in manufacturing and the rate of profit.The empirical analysis confirms the theoretical analysis, which firms thedetermination of promoting the convergence of cultural industry and manufacturing.To this end, this article proposes the suggestions in the aspect of mind, policy,innovation, talents, market and Brandmarketing to promoting the industrialconvergence to achieve the more quality and more sustainable manufacturingupgrading. |
