Study On Painting Art Of Anselm Kiefer

This paper takes the painting art of the contemporary famous German Artist Anselm Kiefer as the research object. Kiefer is one of the world’s most influential art masters in today’s era. Through his unique art works like paintings, prints, sculpture, photography and appliance with monumental and condolent style, Kiefer explores and expresses his comprehension and critical speculation on war, history, human nature, morality and religion, which contain a profound deutsche ethnic culture and ethnic foundation. This paper mainly chooses his paintings for study and discussion, discusses the ideological content and the value of his art and explores the cultural value brought to the society by his art. Kiefer goes beyond the noumenon of painting works to express the redemption of German culture, to express the complex form of political identity and to show how to create the art in today’s pluralistic era. This paper carried out discussions from five aspects: the first part explores the aim of topic selection and expounds the importance of research on the art of Kiefer as well as the present situation of study on the art of Kiefer. The second part introduces the formation of Kiefer’s art and the era processes that Kiefer’s art has experienced under the era background of post-war Germany. The third part deeply discusses the cultural source of Kiefer’s artistic ideas. Kiefer’s artistic ideas are largely affected by the religious mysticism, German artistic thought tradition and contemporary poetry, etc. The fourth part explores the artistic features of Kiefer’s art and the contained thought and it mainly discusses the application of a variety of materials, the use of words and application of symbols in his art works. These artistic features clarify the philosophization and plea in Kiefer’s works. The fifth part discusses the value contained in Kiefer’s art and the influence on Chinese art.
