Refusal speech act refers to the behavior which in the process of verbal communication, the hearer do not accept or deny a series of acts of verbal response in face of the speakers’ request, giving, advices, orders, is a threat behavior of damaging each other face. In speech communication, gender differences also make the implementation of the speech act of refusal exists obvious dissimilarity. In refusal type, conversational mode, refused strategies etc., are showing a difference of non symmetry. Refusal speech act generally includes four types: direct, indirect refusal, false refusal, rhetorical rejection. In general, the frequency of the women use indirect refusal is higher than the male. In characterization of refusal session mode, difference genders show the differences of appellation language use, interjection use and the potential power of exclamatory words showed. Difference genders in the request, giving, advices, orders such four type scenarios will have different performance of choosing refused strategies, in face of Speech Act request, women are better at their own refusal to implement more explanation; Genders in request, suggest that, in the given command such four types of situations in the speech denial strategies have different performance, in the face of request speech act, women are better at doing more explanation of their refusal; in the face of giving speech act, male are better at rejecting by direct meaning expression way; in the face of the advise speech act and the command speech act, refusal strategies using direct express men are still significantly higher than women. The reason of the speech act of refusal made differences between the sexes is not only the result of physiological characteristics but also the influence of social and cultural tradition. Dissimilarity in the refusal speech act between sexes, it not only to guide the subject and object to use the conversation reasonablely and standardly, but also provide some reference for the smooth completion of conversational communication.
