Human owns human nature, so is the things, both of which abide by their own norm and principle. Since ancient times, human has been inextricably linked with animals. Human is evolved from animal. Sartre believed that human is a social animal in the book called Self-portraits in His Seventies, while Cassirer also defined human as animal of symbol in An Essay on Man. The animality of human is undoubted either by defining the attribute of human with "sociality" or exploring the nature of human with "symbolization". Besides, as the time went by, a few cultural concepts and spiritual features of human society have been reflected on the animals. The animal has become human’s cultural representation with specific meanings. Therefore, to explore the relationship between human and animal, interpret writer’s descriptions of animal in the literatures not only reflects human’s understanding and thought on other life existence, but also shows the exploration and remembrance of nature of human life by dispelling the veil of history mist. The research on the animal narrative of Mo Yan involves in the exploration of the relationship between human and human, human and nature as well as human and society.Mo Yan’s mysterious and complicated novels are full of richness and ambiguity. Entering Mo Yan’s novels, animal tracks can be seen everywhere with dazzling sense. Why so many amazing animals appeared in Mo Yan’s novels? Does he want to express something through animals? Do those animals have some special meanings? And what effect does those bizarre animal narratives on Mo Yan’s novels? I desire to clarify those problems by studying the animal narrative in Mo Yan’s novels. I think that Mo Yan’s animal narrative implies his deep thought and concern on the human’s life existence form. Human is often closely related to animals. A "world of human" is implied behind the mottled "animal narrative" in Mo Yan’s literary works. "Animal" is one of the keys to interpret Mo Yan’s complicated, mysterious and bizarre narrative world. This paper takes Mo Yan’s expression and writing of animal as research pointcut to deeply dig into his spiritual world and artistic characteristics, aiming to reach new understanding and thought on his literary creation.The paper can be divided into three chapters including introduction, text (chapter 3) and conclusion.The introduction includes contents of two aspects. One, state the research background and research value of topic by collating Mo Yan’s research status as well as animal narrative’s research status; two, define the connotation and denotation of animal narrative discussed in this paper by combing the animal writings appeared in the past literatures.Chapter one mainly analyzed the cultural origin of animal narrative and the concrete representation of its animal narrative in the text, from the perspective of the occurrence and existence of animal narrative in Mo Yan’s works. One, analyze the cultural origin of animal narrative in Mo Yan’s works by starting from four aspects including regional culture and folk tradition, childhood experience and reading precipitation; two, reveal the reflection of poetic nature, allegorical attribute and magic nature of Mo Yan’s animal narrative in the text from the perspective of primary animal and alienated animal.Chapter two mainly starts from the perspective of literary narrative in Mo Yan’s works, which are about animals’ narrative perspective, narrative words and text function and then explore the text form of animal narrative in Mo Yan’s novels by going deep into the inside text.Chapter three mainly starts from the perspective of meaning and significance of literary point of view in Mo Yan’s works, which has explored the theme metaphor and aesthetic connotation of animal narrative in Mo Yan’s novels, then attempts to explore his understanding and thought on the relationship between human and nature, human and individual life as well as human and society as well as its theme metaphor behind the animal narrative in Mo Yan’s novels from the outsider text by starting from three aspects including ecological consciousness, subject of life and modern culture. This chapter mainly explores the aesthetic style of Mo Yan’s animal narrative from trail of ugly and absurdity.At last, the conclusion indicates the limitation such as narrative duplicate, ambiguity of narrative attitude etc reflected in his animal narrative text by dialectical thinking.
