A Study Of Animal Metaphors In The Main Melody Films Since The New Century

Lakoff points out that the essence of metaphor is to use one thing to understand another thing.Animal metaphor is an important branch of metaphor.Creators often use the appearance,character,voice and behavior of animals to deepen the emotion,promote the plot or metaphor the ideological connotation and values of people.Since the new century,many forms of animal metaphors have appeared in Chinese theme movies,which are rich in connotation and profound in thought.This paper takes animal metaphors in Chinese theme films since the new century as the main research object,selects 15 films as research samples,combines the main viewpoints of metaphor theory,uses literature research method,sorting and categorizing method,and case analysis method as the main research methods,and explores the possible metaphorical connotations of animal images in theme films according to the plots and details in the films.Specifically,it can be divided into the following four parts:Firstly,the introduction explains the research background,research significance,research theory and research methods of this paper.Secondly,it combs the research status of theme movie and animal metaphor,and defines the conceptual connotation and extension of theme movie and animal metaphor.Finally,the innovation of this paper is discussed.The first chapter combs the animal images in Chinese theme movies since the new century in detail,and divides the animal images in movies into three types: fierce and violent type,gentle and lovely type,timid and cautious type.On this basis,it reveals its metaphorical function from three aspects,such as audio-visual expression,narrative clues and cultural implication,and makes an in-depth analysis of the typical animal images such as dove,Wolf and tiger.The third chapter discusses the value and significance of animal metaphor in Chinese theme movies since the new century.It discusses the unique value and significance of animal metaphor in Chinese theme movies since the new century in terms of spreading mainstream value,carrying forward the spirit of The Times and highlighting the national image from three perspectives: mainstream value,national image and educational value.In general,by combing and classifying the animal images in Chinese theme films since the new century,this paper studies the basic function,connotation expression and practical significance of animal metaphors in films,with a view to making the audience deeply understand the cultural implication and ideological connotation behind the animal metaphors in Chinese theme films since the new century,so as to enlighten the audience.It also broadens the development path for Chinese theme films to spread mainstream values,carry forward the spirit of The Times and highlight the national image.
