From The Southwest To Northwest -A Study Of Wudu Prefecture’s Regional Location

Since the Wudu prefecture establish to now, its regional location has experienced the changes of the southwest -borderland -northwest region process. The geographical location, regional concept, adjustment of county, national pattern and confrontation of southern dynasties and northern dynasties resulted in a embarrassed regional locating of wudu prefecture which hints Wudu prefecture’s double trend of centralization and marginalization, this trend has a decisive influence on Wudu prefecture’s development.The article has six chapters.The first chapter of thesis will mainly discuss about establishment and regional location of Wudu prefecture in Han dynasty.the establishment of wudu prefecture begin to exploit the southwestern region and it had been found eventually in sixth year of yuanding. Wudu prefecture’s district had included southern counties of longxi prefecture and northern region which had lived minority marked "baima"and was regard as one of southwestern minorities,then it had been Pertained to cishi of yizhou,so the wudu prefecture had been part of southwestern region.however,in latter Han dynasty,wudu prefecture had been pertained to cishi of liangzhou and it’s counties became only seven compared with nine counties in former of Han..Form the district point of view,wudu prefecture already was part of northwestern region,but the book of latter Han inherits the book of former Han had hold ideas that wudu prefecture still pertain to southwestern minority region,no matter form the nation or district point of view.wudu prefecture had been part of cishi of liangzhou just more than one hundred years, then it had pertained to liangzhou in sixth year of yuankang.In short,wudu prefecture pertain to southwestern region in Han dynasty.The second chapter of article will analysis the relationship between the qiuchi regime and regional location of wudu prefecture in wei & jin southern and northern dynasties. Wudu prefecture had been destroyed and replaced with qiuchi regime established by yang, qiuchi regime whose district had been consisted of gansu shanxi and sichuan province’s border today and included most region of wudu prefecture had survived one hundred and eighty years,so this chapter intend to pursuit the regional location of wudu prefecture by studying qiuchi regime. In this period,the northern regime such as wei constantly had conflicted with southern regime aiming at defeating each other deliberately,the qiuchi regime had been located in border of northern and southern regime.The northern regime had regarded chiqiu regime as disaster of southwestern,while the southern regime regard qiuchi regime as a savage minority of northwestern,however,the two sides had tried their best to attract qiuchi regime for the sake of political destinations,for example,the wei dynasty had granted southern cishi of liangzhou and the qi dynasty had granted southern cishi of liangzhou,so it is self-evident that wudu prefecture had been pertained to borderland.The third chapter of text will make a research about effect of longyoudao and shannandao to wudu prefecture’s regional pertain and point out that sui and tang dynasty is the first period that wudu prefecture’s regional pertain had been inclined to northwestern,because the wudu prefecture had already pertained to longyoudao,last but not the least, minorities marked diqiang of wudu prefecture had been disappearing for aggression of tubo regime ensuing it had lost symbol of southwestern minorities.The fourth chapter of paper will mainly discourse regional pertain of wudu prefecture from song dynasty to today.As a whole, this period regional location of wudu prefecture had continued moving to northwestern region and the notion named sanlong had begun to forming, the establishment and alienation of gansu and sichuan province’s border had played a great role in this process. Wudu prefecture often had reflected northwestern frontier in song dynasty while vague in yuan dynasty.the ming and qing dynasty was the second point of northwestern location,then,the notion that the wudu prefecture pertain to northwestern had been accepted by public.The fifth chapter of dissertation will try to seek the regional location of wudu prefecture from the constellation point of view.The paper conclude that the officer history books representing the whole history hold ideas that the wudu prefecture is part of northwestern region,and the local records representing small history argues that the wudu prefecture pertain to southwestern region by comparing records of wudu prefecture’s constellation location in the officer history books and local records.The last chapter of paper will piont out that regional location of wudu prefecture had experienced changes of southwestern-borderland -northwestern region process by summarizing the above content and draw some conclusions.
