Fredrickson’s the broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions states that positive emotions can expand the scope of individual cognition and action, expanding the individual’s moments of consciousness, thinking and activity, however, the relevant study of cognition control and task switching have discovered the opposite result. By the stimulus of eroticism or delicious food, the function of individual cognition get more serious damage than neutral stimulus. Emotional motivation dimension model that presented by Gable and Harmon-Jones explains this contradiction, which divided positive emotions into Low approach motivation(such as peace, humor) and High approach motivation(such as desire, passion), on the one hand, it described Low approach positive emotions can make individual sense the surroundings are comfortable and stable, meanwhile, lower the attention of target, and expanding attention to other objectives. Therefore, it can expand the Cognitive processing range. On the other hand, High approach motivation can make individual pay attention to the desirable target objectives, it narrowed down the Cognitive processing range. This research has proved the theory by using Emotional blindness paradigm which is in the leading position in domestic areas, it discusses different approach motivation positive emotions affect individual on the range temporal attention. Emotion-induced blindness, EiB is functional blink, it means an task irrelevant emotional stimulus appeals that attract attention so that individual can not aware for fast rendering target stimulation. Most etc are firstly presented EiB concept and use Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, RSVP model for research. Experiment 1, each RSVP is consist of 17 pictures,15 of them are irrelevant picture.(fill in pictures),1 is target picture,1 is Key interference images. All the irrelevant pictures are stand pictures about views or buildings. Target picture is 90degree rotating right or left pictures about views or buildings. Key interference images have three kinds, they are high reaching positive images, neutral pictures and low reaching high positive images. All images are present, at a speed of 100 ms. The key interference images appear in the target image (time interval is positive) before and after (time interval is negative), the time interval between them has five kinds,-200 ms (lag-2)、-100ms(lag-1)、100ms (lag1)、200ms (lag2) and 600 ms (lag6). Experiment 1 observed that under the condition of high reaching positive images, the individual recognition of target stimulation is much lower than the neutral, and under the low reaching positive conditions, individuals sense a target stimulus have no significant difference. further analysis shows that low reaching positive emotions in lagl, lag2 and lag6’s target stimulus recognition rate was significantly higher than neutral, which support the emotional motivation dimension model. Experiment 2 expand the range of temporal attention, use two vertical RSVP flow both up an down present at the same time, explore the emotional change of blindness in the space. The research report shows that in lag-1、lag1 and lag2, when key interference image (positive emotions images) flow with the target stimulus, high reaching positive images damaged the cognition of target stimulus. The result shows that Emotional blindness is different from the classical note instantaneous, there is basic difference in the internal system. Emotional blindness may involve early consciousness competition, and influenced by the stimulation the spatial location. Discussion part of this research mainly summarized the deficiency of relevant theories and research behind experimental results, and look forward to find more evidence in the future research.
