College Students’ Love Conflict And Relationship With Depression

Love is affection between people with strong feeling of attachment; closeness and yearning. For the young people in college, as they are becoming physiologically and mentally mature, their sexual awareness is awaking, they always longing for love. In fact, being in love has became an important part of college life. However, love conflict made people begin to think that love is not as perfect as they imagine. Love conflict cause pressure; tension; anxiety and low emotion, it even leads to psychological crises and destructive behavior for some of the college students, it is seriously influencing the mental health of college students. The survey implemented by Nanjing Crises intervention Centre shows suicide of college students accounted 44.2% of college students’suicide reason. Is their self-denial emotion and pessimism caused their Destructive behaviors?According to this situation, it developes the depression of cognitive theory model with the depression of cognitive behavior therapy created by Beck.We try to do some researches as follows:(1) Based on journals reviewed,doing researches in public and asking for advices from specialists.We draw up a kind of scale which conforms to the requrements of phcological measurement by self-made questionaire.(2)To know the mechanism of internal progress happened on love conflict among the colloge students,demographtic characteristics and relationship among the symptoms of depression.(3) We apply the satiya’s treatment model of system transformation to intervene a case:the depression coused by love conflict happened on a senior female student.And it will broaden the dimensions in love conflict and depression in college students.we find the results as follows:(1)As a kind of psychological measurement tool,the questionaire of love conflict among college students can apply to measure love conflict among college students.(2)In the whole.the level of love conflict among college students belongs to the mild level.The tense of conflict is low.but the sense of threat is high and the ability about efficacy of coping tends to be low.(3)Love conflict among college different from grades signifcantly.In the whole,the trend of love conflict ascends with the rising of grades.the feeling of conflicts in love tends to increase,and the solving expectation tends to decrease. The senior group is needed most to be given the care on love conflict..(4)conflicts-among college student vary due to several elements such as gender, bir thplace, major, and the number of his/her family’s children. The difference between the t wo genders in the reactions to theloveconflict is significant. Girls tend to suffer more fro m the conflicts and hold lower expectations to resolve the conflicts. While boys-feel mo re tension and anxiety when it comes to the threatening factors. In general, the reactions to the conflicts are basically no different in spite of the sudents’birthplaces. However, a s for the intensity, students grown up in urban area have much intenser feelings against t he conflicts than those from the countryside. Besides, the specifics of their conflicts shar e huge discrepancy between the two groups. Still, another obvious divergence of the con tent lies between the groups of liberal art students and the science ones.there is a significant marginal diffirence in the score on the effecacy of coping conflict love whether he or she is in the one-child family(p=0.056). And the group of one-child is better in the effcancy of coping for the conflicts.(5)The characteristic of differences on the college students’love affair:single students who have ever failed in love feel strong feeling for love conflicts, low expectation towards the resovling of love conflicts and effcacy of coping;in general, stuents who have ever experienced once love affair are high love conflicts, but low expectation on the low expectation towards the resovling of love conflicts effcacy;there is a significant diffirence between stuents who have ever experienced once love affair and students who have experienced love affair three time or four times. On the feeling of love conflicts and love threaten, students in the non-long distance love relationship is significant higher than students in the long distance love relationship.(6)On the detection rate of depression is characterized by:no depression symptoms of girls’score is significantly higher than boys’; the score of rural college students group is significantly higher than urban college students group.Therefore,it indicates that we should pay more attention to the girl and rural college students’mood changes that may occur; university students overall depression in professional differences test shows that the depression levels of students of literature and history group lower than students of polytechnic and art and gym. University students overall level of depression have significant differences in the grade, along with the higher grade, the depression levels decrease, students of freshman and sophomore have high depression levels.(7)Studies on the relationship between depressive symptoms and love conflict among college students show that depressive symptoms has significant positive correlation (p< 0.01)with love conflicts among college students and it’s each factor.The multiple correlation coefficient of four prediction variables with depression is 0.275,decision coefficient R of 0.076 The overall inspection of the regression model F of 18.673 (p= 0.000< 0.05).7.6% of the variance of the variables can be effectively explained.Depression should be affected by many factors.College students’ levels of depressive symptoms is affected by various factors such as studies, interpersonal relations, economic condition.family background and so on.The love conflict is one of the factors,In the study of college students depressive symptoms, we can try to bring a variety of variables to establish a more systematic and comprehensive prediction relationship.(8)Satya’s system transformation model can help the college students to realize own love conflitcts and depressive symptoms caused by them. And it also can promote the psychological selfgrowth of college students and ease the symptoms of depression and the feeling of the love conflicts.
