Dan Brown is famous as a best-selling author in American. In my opinion, on the surface of his novels the author shows the American hero’s story, in his books justice overcame evil, and finally there was a happy ending. But under the aspect of story, the meaning of garden is important too.For everyone, "garden" is significative. But the characters in the novels are far from "garden", they lead a vagrant life on a never-ending road. Some of them want to return to their garden, while others give up the efforts of garden. Eventually, all the people are not able to return garden. These people live on the road, and choose to stay in a corner. These people lives and also gets their own achievements, seems to have found the meaning of life. But this is only false appearance, they actually just followed the way of the "others" to survive, which was designed by "the ordinary people". But the real "garden",which have the great significance to people having lost. From a broader perspective of contemporary aesthetic culture, it also seems to be a kind of specific writing of modern crisis. My article includes five chapters. The first chapter is about the research condition of Dan Brown novels, as well as the definition of garden, the thinking of selecting the topic and significance of the research. The second chapter to the sixth chapter is the main part of this article, it mainly discusses the problem of "garden lost", and the status of the people, who are living in it after the "garden lost", and the different choices of these people when they meet with the call from the "garden".
