The Discuss Of Jiang Yingliang’s Tai History Research

Jiang Yingliang(1909-1988), contemporary famous anthropology and ethnohistory expert, is one of the pioneers and founders of domestic research on the history of Dai nationality. He had long been concerned about the problem of Dai nationality, in the study of Dai nationality’s history, he used the method of the combination of anthropology and ethnohistory and made outstanding achievements.Combined with historical background and the development of ethnology, this paper evaluates and analyses Jiang’s study on Dai history. Preface is mainly about research significance and research status. There are three chapters in the main body. Chapter one introduces Jiang’s academic origin and the experience of his research on Dai nationality; Chapter two is based on his book, discusses the research achievements in the history of Dai nationality, focuses on the specific research achievements of ethnic origin, staging of ancient time, chieftain system, as well as economic and cultural life, especially the original ideas; Chapter three explores theories and methods that Jiang applied when he was doing his research. Through the study about various parts of the above, this paper tries to reflect Jiang Yingliang’s academic status and characteristics in the study of Dai nationality’s history.
