Li Ruzhen is a novelist in the Middle Qing Dynasty. He wrote Li’s Yinjian and the novel of Jing Hua Yuan. The aim to this paper is to discuss ideological value, cognitive value and aesthetic value in his novel Jing Hua Yuan.This thesis comprises of three parts. Part O ne is exordium which includes the life of the writer and the creation background. The forming factors about the novel should contribute to the political background, cultural fashion, traditional concept, the writer’s experiences and the purpose of creation.Part Two is the main text which maintains three chapters. Chapter O ne discuss the ideological value which analyses the novel from the perspective of people foremost, female right and chivalry-admiring thought. Chapter Two take the idea of commerce and education to discuss, especially mention the marine literature about the business views. Chapter Three makes up by three parts ——characterization, satirical art and narrative art.Part Three is concluding remarks which sums up the shorts of this paper and try to re-evaluate the value of Jing Hua Yuan.
