Architectural way-finding system is an identification design system that is based on indoor and outdoor space environment with graphic symbols, text, color, video, audio, material(texture), and takes visual, auditory, tactile and other information as convey carriers. It is also a leading design system of the information about Boot space line design, orientation and relation in the indoor and outdoor environments. In this study, it is divided into the traditional architectural way-finding systems and electronic architectural way-finding systems separately. This paper also investigates the current application status of the traditional architectural way-finding system and electronic architectural way-finding system and the people flow lines. It finds the main problems of the systems in the process of investigation and analysis. According to the survey results of the analysis of the root causes of the problem, the paper proposes appropriate improvement strategies and recommendations elements after summarization. Combined with the current management situation of Beijing hospital architectural way-finding systems, it also proposes the further suggestions and principles of integrated design and management. Therefore a reasonable improvement and development of new directions is proposed. Finally, under the guidance of national standards, combined with user-friendly design principles, the paper re-defines the classification of the traditional hospital architectural way-finding systems in the indoor and outdoor environments, and then put forward proposals for the design of traditional knowledge guide rationalization based on the existing classification. This paper also offers a new interface design of the electronic hospital architectural way-finding systems.Looking to the future, people require architectural way-finding systems to be more user-friendly, and emphasize much more on experiential design of human-computer interaction. The design and application of electronic architectural way-finding systems have become an inevitable trend. However, the main purpose of the application of way-finding systems is how to serve the human better. The design of the way-finding systems should put the psychological needs of the emotional needs of human on the most important position.
