| With the increasingly wide range of eternal exchanges, China and othercountries have developed various international cooperation in many fieldswhich involves many legal activities and various foreign affairs relating to anumber of disputes. International transaction cannot avoid legal documentstranslation of different sorts, such as declaration, treaty, contract, agreement,international laws or other countries’ legal translation. During foreign legaltransaction, legal translation is indispensable, which demonstrates theimportance of legal translation and plays a role in promoting construction ofChinese legal system.In the language learning, the legal language translation is a branch oftranslation studies, the thesis using Property Law Act in 1958 Victoria AU as anexample, discussing some problems that required attention.Before analyzing the body of thesis, I explained text background and textcharacters in translation project. Property Law Act in 1958 Victoria AU waspromulgated by Law Reform Commission of Victoria Austrian in 1958 andmodified completed in 2008. Our team translate the version of modification.The third part of thesis analyses some basic principles of legal translation suchas, accuracy and veracity, consistency and identity, clear and concise, lawnature. The forth part analyses the law language and words characters, such asarchaic words, legal adverbs, legal terminology; syntactic features andtranslation, such as simple sentences, relative clauses, long sentences.In chapter V,the thesis summarized my translation practice, the troubles I meet,and how I overcame them, and the reference suggestions for legal translation.Through this practice, I utilized some translation methods, literaltranslation, free translation, conversion translation, leading translation andothers. Given the special nature of legal translation, the translator should exerttheir subjectivity, and take above strategies making the translation meet therequirement of legal Chinese, and enhance the readability. |
