The Chinese Opera is regarded as the crystal of Chinese intelligence. There are various features establishing its unrepresentable position among all the traditional Chinese arts, for instance, significant tradition which illuminates a long history, specific vocal system, fabulous performing skills, excellent lists of plays and distinct regional characteristics. However, since the 20 th century, Chinese Opera has been facing both unprecedented survival crisis and development dilemma. Preservation, inheritance and innovation are the the core theme of survival and development. Furthermore, the rapid developing of the sorts of new media and technology is extensively and deeply applied in various fields nowadays. In addition, the new media has become interactive, timely and sharable unlike traditional media.The Chinese Opera cannot be disseminated or diffused without the loading, expanding, extending, and transmitting of the medium. And new media development and progress, also need to constantly develop and expand its content technology platform Under the new space-time background, the traditional opera art inheritance and protection of the dissemination and promotion, not only need to continue to play a traditional media(such as newspaper, radio and TV movies, etc.) unique features and great effect, also need to use new media platform for the advanced technology and advantage, to maximize the reach of national excellent traditional culture of comprehensive complete real save to inherit and carry forwardThis essay starting from the historical value and realistic situation of Chinese opera. Furthermore, in this essay I take the Sichuan Opera, which is the representative state-level intangible cultural heritage, as an example to explore the integration and interaction between the new media and Chinese Opera. Moreover, this essay analyses the possibility to apply the new media onto Chinese Opera, and proposes the countermeasures and advanced ideas of the application.
