Interpretation Of Linjun Myth By N-level Coding

Linjun myth is widely spread in the southwest of Hubei province, where lives The Tujia, the descendants of Linjun Ba, who has little knowledge of Linjun myth and its practical application. Using the N-level coding theory put forward by Mr. Ye Shuxian, combined with historical documents, unearthed literature, oral and folk material, cultural relics and quad evidence such as images to analyze Linjun myth and decode the narration in the past dynasties step by step, and look for the related prototypes from the contemporary literature text, stage art and real life. Besides, this paper also tries to discuss the current situation of people’ understanding and application of the myth in order to dig and popularize the deeper culture value of Linjun myth to promote the development of economic and cultural in the southwest of Hubei province. The article is divided into four parts. The introduction part first introduces the Linjun myth, the research findings, the N-level coding theory and the concept of generalized myth; then it introduces the research achievements of the three key words “Ba”, “Lin”, and “Salt” in the myth from the point of literal encoding and then put forward my own views. The second part decodes the prototype of Linjun myth, mainly from the narrative angle of the contents and figures. The third part verifies the text of Linjun myth in the past dynasties, and deeply analyzes some remaining suspects after synthesizing numerous scholars’ views. And at the same time, to prove that history is full of such instances, and it has been inherited in the southwest of Hubei province. The fourth part decodes and restores the Linjun myth which existing in the contemporary literary works, stage arts and social life of Enshi.In the conclusion part, this paper,on the one hand, points out the shortage of attention in the role of promoting the development of economic and cultural in southwest of Hubei province; on the other hand, it puts forward some solutions.
