In Ming dynasty, they used "hot" to describe calligraphy, and this idea was thorough to whole Ming dynasty。That differed from the other calligraphic phenomenon, especially in the calligraphic history。Since it existed, it must have such reasons and reasonability。Given this, the article makes a point based on that and discuss about it.First of all, this article clears the scope of calligraphy, and its development status in Ming dynasty; After that it focuses on the reason analysis about the calligraphy thrived in Ming dynasty, covering several levels’problems, such as the preference of emperor, imperial examination system, ideology and culture, production technology, housing construction and image type of calligraphy;The calligraphy development of Ming dynasty experienced a long time-continuing process relatively, so that it formed special characteristics which is different with other dynasties, For this reason, this article provides more detailed analysis; Xue’an Writing Calligraphy by Li Pu guang, Yuan dynasty, the theoretical writings related to the calligraphy, came first and then more writings appeared, such as The 84 Ways to Write Calligraphy by Li Chun, Ming Dynasty, The Notes of Calligraphy by Fei Ying, The Knack of Calligraphy and Book for Children Who Learning Calligraphy, both written by Feng Fang。All the writings mentioned above played positive role in the development and prosperity of Ming Calligraphy。This article sorts the main contents of those writings successively.
