Learning processes from various individual factors will affect the learning effect. Foreign students with Chinese origin are a special group, an important faction that should not be ignored. This thesis mainly researches on Vietnameseborn Chinese students who major in Mandarin in University. It investigates and analyses on their individual factors, consiting of their background, learning motivation, learning attitude and learning strategy. Included in this thesis are the methods of questionnaire surveys, interview surveys, observations, and the understanding of the characteristics of Vietnamese-born Chinese students, to summarize their commonness and particularity that exist in the Chinese learning process. Moreover, this research will base on the comparison of resulted data, to obtain the similarities and differences in Chinese learning process between the Vietnamese students and Vietnamese-born Chinese students. In addition to this research, studies between the Vietnamese-born Chinese students of senior level class and primary level class are recorded intensively. Lastly, this thesis will analyze positive and negative influences from individual factors of Vietnameseborn Chinese students in their Chinese learning process. In hopes of finding out their avantages and disavantages through the survey results, and therefore, creating a strong pertinent teaching strategy.
