Song Painting Theory Of Neo -Confucianism Ideas

From the view of the keywords statistic and the integrated use of textual and image analysis methods, this paper explores the relationship between the Song Dynasty painting theory and Neo-Confucianism.It is to illustrate how the Song Dynasty thoughts affect their contemporaries theoretical concepts of painting.This paper analyzes the relationship between the Song Dynasty painting theory and Neo-Confucianism from three aspects:Firstly, it is about the influence of a few core concepts of the most representative Science to the Song Dynasty painting of Context. For example, "Neo", "gas" of ontological; "sex" of the theory of Human Nature and as a martial arts theory and methodology, "investigation of things", conservation " and Neo keywords. Reflected from the painting at that time, it leads to form another set of words such as "painting truth", " Hua Qi-theory ", "exhaustive inquiry", "the investigation of things" and "personality training" and other words. These are directly reflects the influence of Confucianism in the Song Dynasty Painting. This part of this article will search,arrange,and statistic the keywords. To be more convincing, we also searched the song before painting on the comparison evidence.Secondly, it is about the great influence of science unique world outlook and methodology on painters Song ideas and creations. In addition to the formed painting theory, this part also talked about the Song of essays on painting some reasonable circumstances. Commenced respectively from the writers groups and official art academy, this article verified circumstances by analyzing painter identity, network and anecdotal.The final conclusion is the concept of Science influenced painting theory of Song Dynasty, while also directly or indirectly affect the process of observation and painting of artists. The whole process is essentially the practice of methodology of the Science (the investigation of things) and the effort(conservation), ultimately manifesting a spirit of Science in the works.Finally, the created paintings of Song artist have traces of the existence of Neo influence both in content and in form. In this part,the article selected less controversial representative works of typical painters to analyze with picture presentation. Three traditional paintings are illustrated (figures, landscapes and flowers and birds) with particular analysis on flowers and birds as it gained most significant achievements in Song. Respectively, from the perspective of ethical metaphor, observational methods, composition evolution and other aspects of the work to carry out on the analysis, aiming to work from multiple perspectives to further illustrate the special relationship between the works and the Neo at all levels.In short, Neo-Confucianism influenced the Song painting theory whereas painting theory and Neo-Confucianism together influenced the creation and ideas of the artists groups and they eventually worked to present out the Science spirit and unique marks of time. Among many of the paintings, the drawing of flowers and birds best embodies the spirit of science and the broken branches painting followed. The article also noted in Song Dynasty the development process of landscapes and flowers and birds shared the same characteristic in composition and selection which is the inherent logic and starting point of this article. What’s more, artists in Song dynasty revealed great dedication and hard efforts in their practice, not just wanting people to admire the subtlety of their skills but for another essential reason. That is, by presenting through paintings, artists conducted practice on philosophy and methodology of Science. And regardless of schema selection for practice, it is just as a carrier for mind enrichment and finally for gaining insight and investigation of heaven principles.
