Remembrance of past frustration leads to negative emotions, however, things are not always like this. This study includes 3 experiments, which indicate different self-efficacy individuals would undergo different emotional experiences when recalling frustrations events. Subjects were asked to recall the frustration of different attribution situation in test 1, which showed (1) In intrinsic attribution situation, higher self-efficacy individuals undergone more negative emotions, compared with lower self-efficacy individuals; (2)In extrinsic attribution situation, higher self-efficacy individuals undergone less negative emotions, compared with lower self-efficacy individuals.Test2:Subjects were asked to recall the "within a year" and "a year ago" frustration, respectively. It reveals that (1)Compared with lower self-efficacy individuals, higher self-efficacy individuals undergone more negative emotions in intrinsic attribution situation, when they were recalling the "within a year" frustration. Contrarily, higher self-efficacy individuals undergone less negative emotions in extrinsic attribution situation.(2)There was no significant difference between higher self-efficacy individuals and lower self-efficacy individuals, who were recalling the "a year ago" frustration, both in intrinsic and extrinsic attribution situation. In test 3, we add a new cognitive variable----Ex post evaluation, to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and the negative emotions modification further by using a mediation analysis mothed. It shows that (1) compared with lower self-efficacy individuals, higher self-efficacy individuals got more negative evaluations in intrinsic attribution situation, and which would cause more negative emotions. (2) In extrinsic attribution situation, higher self-efficacy individuals got less negative evaluations, and which would cause less negative emotions. In conclusion, this study indicated that self-efficacy can modify people’s emotional experiences to a certain extent. Different self-efficacy individuals got different evaluations when they recalling past frustrations of specific attribution situation.
