Recent years the international relations between Ukraine and People’s Republic of China arebecoming more and more frequent.The right understanding and usage of non-verbal communication signs plays important role in the cross-cultural communication. The rightusage of non-verbal communication signs is one of the most urgent research topics for the cross-culturalscholarsnowadays. The usage of nonverbal signs shows culture differences and has a great influence on the communication between different people.Both verbal and nonverbal communication sings are very important for successful communication. We should understand not only the language of communication, but also gestures, facial expressions, body moment etc. According to the scholars’ research, we get only 30% information trough language, the rest of information we get through nonverbal communication. Studying nonverbal etiquette, students can comprehend verbal and nonverbal habits, enter into Chinese cultural environment, and have more successful communication.This thesis is devoted to research of differences in nonverbal communication in Ukrainian and Chinese cultures. According to the differences in body language, space and time perception, etiquette rules in two cultures we conduct the comparativeresearch. Throughpolling analysis of Chinese and Ukrainian students and businessmen, we singled out the main characteristic features of using nonverbal signs, and the most common mistakes and barriers in cross-cultural communication.
