Parenthesis are used more frequently in both spoken and written language and they usually express the speaker's personal opinion,connect parts of a sentence,make language more logical and natural,and add emotional color.All people often use it without thinking in everyday communication.Although these kinds of words may seem not important at first sight,don't take it lightly.They can also be used to convey the right to speak,to change the tone of conversation or to change language style,so on.Every year,more and more linguists are interested in this topic,and more and more articles about it appear,what proves that the Parenthesis is really important.This thesis illustrates the differences and common features of the Parenthesis in Ukrainian and Chinese languages through the analysis and comparison,and illustrates three linguistics aspects in the process of comparative research: syntax,semantic and pragmatic.And through interview with Ukrainian students,who are learning Chinese,illustrates the most common mistakes,analyzes it and put forward teaching suggestions on this basis.The first chapter is the introduction;from second to fourth chapters are the main chapters of this paper.From the second chapter,the author with help of scientific articles and linguistic corpora collects the most commonly used Ukrainian and Chinese Parenthesis,that way it can be found how many syllables or words Parenthesis include in each language.This chapter also analyzes and compares the changes in the form and structure of two languages' Parenthesis,its common and different characteristics;finds out which class of words it is.In the third chapter,a comparison is made from the pragmatic and semantic aspects.Author describes and compares the semantic-pragmatic functions of Parenthesis,indicating that there are commonalities and differences in these aspects in Chinese and Ukrainian languages.Analyzes and compares the semantic types of Ukrainian and Chinese Parenthesis and their usage frequency and proportion.Analyzes the pragmatic function of Parenthesis in turn-taking communication turns,at the end of discourse and rhetoric.The differences are mainly in the various semantic types and their usage.In the fourth chapter,Author through interview with Ukrainian students,who are learning Chinese,illustrates the most common mistakes,analyzes it and put forward teaching suggestions on this basis.The interview for this paper consists of 11 different questions,all of which have been carefully thought out in advance to determine the level of awareness and difficulty of the interviewee on the subject,for example:Chinese proficiency assessment;translation from Ukrainian to Chinese and from Chinese to Ukrainian;determination of respondents' personal attitudes and interests on the topic;where and how respondents researched the question;whether native language influences responses when translating etc.A total of 10 Chinese language learners participated in the interview,all of them are students who have a purpose to learn Chinese,and most of them have a high level of Chinese.The author found that many mistakes were made.The main reason for making mistakes: The influence of mother tongue and insufficient attention to the research on this topic.The last chapter is the conclusion,including summarizing all the results and the innovations and shortcomings of this chapter.
