Abstract:As China has unswervingly pursued the policy of opening to the outside world and intercultural economic and social communication have increasingly developed, it offers us many opportunities to keep in touch with other countries around the world. And it brings advantages to both China and Chinese people to get better understanding of Western society and culture. In cross-cultural communication, verbal communication is more common than the written language communication. Accompanied with the process of human society modernization, verbal communication is getting more and more important. Language ability has become the integral part of the modern people survival ability and professional ability. Principle of verbal communication is the most important theory and the law of verbal communication. The research and exploration on the principles of verbal communication is not only the summary on previous language phenomenon, but also has a strong practical significance. It plays an important role in the improvement of language ability and the unhealthy phenomenon in language communication activities.The first part gives a brief introduction about the content and application of the verbal communication principles; The second part analyses the barriers in cross-cultural communication and the reasons; The third part analyzes the teacher should be paid attention to in the speech communication teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
