Study On The Metaphorical "NP1 Zhong De NP2" Format

"NP1 zhong de NP2" format can be divided into two categories:Firstly, illustrative "NP1 zhong de NP2" format. In this format, NP1 and NP2 belong to the conventional collocation, and NP2 illustrates or restricts the referential object NP; Secondly, metaphorical "NP1 zhong de NP2" format, in this format, NP1 and NP2 belong to the supernormal collocation, and there is a metaphorical relationship between NP2 and NP. The later will be discussed emphatically in this paper. On the metaphorical format, We will study it from the following aspects:the structure and distribution of the format, categories, as well as the stylistic manifestation.The paper includes five chapters:Chapter one:"NP1 zhong de NP2":from the illustrative format to the metaphorical formatThis chapter introduces the research object of the paper, analyses the relationship between illustrative format and metaphorical format, and reviews the research results which associated with the metaphorical format.Chapter two:The structure and distribution of metaphorical "NP1 zhong de NP2" formatThis chapter knows the metaphorical format from two aspects:the internal structure and the discourse distribution. The internal structure includes the metaphorical relationship among NP1,NP2 and NP, the classification of NP1 and NP2, as well as Pragmatic intention of metaphorical format. The discourse distribution includes the co-occurrence situation of NP and "NP1 zhong de NP2", the co-occurrence location of NP, and the looming of context information.Chapter Three:The categories of the Metaphorical formatAccording to the different characteristics and properties which NP2 transfers to NP, the metaphorical format can be divided into three categories:directional metaphor format, selective metaphor format, additional metaphor format.Chapter Four:Stylistic manifestation of metaphorical "NP1 zhong de NP2" formatThis chapter discusses the stylistic distribution and functional interpretation. The metaphorical format is mainly distributed in the popular stylistics, news stylistics, literary stylistics and advertisements. Because of different restrictions of the communicative purpose and communicative tasks, the Metaphorical format in the different fields will produce different function.Chapter Five:the ConclusionThis chapter is a summary, and introduces the problems and the shortage of the paper.
