The Study Of The ABB-Type Adjective In Modern Chinese

There is one kind of adjectives in modern Chinese which can express the meaning vividly and is full of the sense of visual. These adjectives describe properties of things concretely in the forms of reduplication. They are the means of expressing vivid characteristics of Chinese and represent the unique trait of Chinese characters.And the representative type is the ABB—type adjective. The history of scholars’ attention paying on ABB--type adjective is not long. Its research mainly focus on nature of ABB—type adjective and formation of ABB—type adjective, the inner construction of ABB—type adjective and transformation of BB reduplication, semantic features and emotional features of it and the pragmatic differences and developing trend of it. Now we have no answer about the pronunciation of ABB—type adjective, We have counted the Pronunciation and meaning of ABB—type adjective in some versions of Modern Chinese dictionary,we also contrast and analysis its Changes in pronunciation,Structural features, the semantic and historical development.We hope that it is helpful to the pronunciation specification problems of ABB—type adjectives through our research.The first chapter is introduction.This part mainly focuses on the present research situation and scope of ABB—type adjective and the method and significance of its research.In the second chapter, we counted the situation of the ABB—type adjective in modern Chinese dictionary adjectives of phonetic, compare their phonetic changes in different versions.In the third chapter,it mainly analyzes the structure of ABB—type adjective,at first we divided all of the ABB—type adjective we have counted into two categories:formation and structure form.Secondly we investigate these adjectives’ situation of variable and immutable.The fourth chapter is mainly to analysis the semantic of ABB—type adjective.The last part has made a summary about the contents and research finding of this thesis.
