Study On Two-type Words Of Adjective And Noun In Modren Chinese On The Base Of Corpus

The study on multi-category words in modern Chinese has gained more and more attention among scholars since 1950s and 1960s,especially the numerous studies of the three major notional words.While the complexity and typicality of adjective and noun,as a predicate and nominals successively,is particularly prominent.The paper classifies and contrasts the two-type words of adjective and noun in dictionary and in dispute through the method of metrological statistics and analyses the part of speech and syntactic function of two-type words of adjective and noun by using of corpus in order to discover the features of two-type words of acdjective and noun in syllable,structure,part of speech and syntactic function.The paper is divided into six chapters:Chapter ?:Introduction.This part mainly discusses the reason of the selection of this topic,the status of the study,the scope the study,the source of the corpus and the method and significance of the study.Chapter ?:Judgement and Inclusion of Two-type Words of Adjective and Noun.This part firstly introduces the definition of two-type words of adjective and noun in textbook and dictionary and its argumentation and puts forward the author' s own opinion.Secondly,it proposes the judging principle for the inclusion of two-type words of adjective and noun through the analysis on phenomenon related to the two-type words of adjective and noun and comparison between parts of two-type words of adjective and noun and controversial two-type words of adjective and noun,pure nouns or adjectives.Chapter ?:The Classification of Two-type Words of Adjective and Noun.This part sorts out the vocabulary of two-type words of adjective and noun and vocabulary of controversial two-type words of adjective and noun according to the principle established in Chapter ?.Then it classifies the two-type words of adjective and noun according to syllable and structure and contrasts the two-type words of adjective and noun with controversial two-type words of adjective and noun,pure nouns or adjectives in syllable and structure.Chapter ?:Study on Part of Speech and Syntactic Function of Two-type Words of Adjective and Noun.Firstly,in this part the author quantifies 15 two-type words of adjective and noun according to Chinese Proficiency Level Syllabus for Vocabulary and Chinese Character.And then the author conducts practical corpus analysis for the 15 two-type words of adjective and noun by using corpus made by State Language Commission in aspects of part of speech and syntactic function to conclude the relationship between its part of speech and syntactic function.Chapter ?:The Causes of Multi-category Words.This part analyses some linguistic phenomenon related to the generation of multi-category words and then discusses the internal drives of generation form the point of view of cognition.Chapter ?:Conclusion.This part mainly summarizes the main contents and conclusions of the paper.
