An Multi-Perspective Study On The Expressing Discourage Hypothesis Of The Format “Zai A Jiu B”

The format “zai(再) A jiu(就) B” is frequently used in spoken C hinese. It is often used to express the speaker that wants to stop listenser’s behvior or the postural’s. The format has its own speciality in so me aspects, such as syntax, semantics and pragmatics, etc. Based on the fact of C hinese language, we are about to inspect the internal cotofguration of entering every componment of the format and describe and analyze the syntactic ema ntic relationship and pragmatics function of the whole format in detail. By our study, we hope that it can give a deeper understanding of the format and complement the study of other relevant formats. This thesis has five chapters including introduction and conclusion.The first chapter is the introduction which we mainly introduce the object of study, the significance of the topic, previous studies, methods, and corpus sources.The second chapter we give a comprehensive classification and description of inner components of “zai(再) A jiu(就) B”,as well as its sentence construction which could be considered as compressed sentence and general hypothesis compound sentence when by itself in sentence, and syntactic function mainly is object and attribute.The third chapter we mainly analyze the semantic of the format. Firstly, we summarize the format’s meaning according to the three examples: discourage and hypothesis; and then we analyze its subjectivity.The fourth chapter we observe the pragmatics of this format. It can be divided into two parts. The first part we mainly analyze the pragmantic function of this format. We describe the function from statement, instruction and expression. The second part we analyze this format practical language environment, which including context and situational.The last chapter is the conclusion of the thesis. We summarize the main viewpoints, study achievements and shotcomings of the thesis.
