On The Marxism View Of Althusser

This thesis starts on Althusser’s defense and development of Marxism. It mainly pays attention to Althusser’s understanding and interpretation of Marxism. The author hopes to study the following issues by the comparative analysis method: first, what is background and his thoughts did Althusser understand Marxism; second, in what aspects did Althusser make an in-depth interpretation of Marxism; third, how to evaluate Althusser’s defense and development of Marxism, as well as his misunderstanding of Marxism in the era of limitations.In the introduction the author mainly talks about the meaning of this thesis and the study of it. First of all, this thesis introduces the crisis and the manipulation by humanitarian of Marxism under the background of the changing international and French political situation, especially after the 20 th Congress of the Communist Party of Soviet Union. Althusser fought back and his view of Marxism came into being in this dilemma. He introduced the evolution of his Marxist view at the same time. Secondly, this thesis will be analyzed around how Althusser made the in-depth interpretation of Marxism. The points of “Epistemological Break”, “Theoretical Anti-humanism”, “Over-determination” and so on will be related. By the structuralist thinking frame and the specific interpretation methods of Althusser, the author will talk about the efforts Althusser made for Marxism from specific theories, such as ideology and science, symptomatic reading, contradictory and diverse and for forth. Finally, the author will focus on the defense and development of Marxism by Althusser when he made the interpretation of Marxism, as well as inadequate due to age limitations. Based on the detailed analysis of Althusser’s theory, the author pointed that Althusser made a significant contribution to the development of Marxism which has an important significance of the rich of Marxism and our correctly understanding and adhering to Marxism.
