| This is a translation report on “Translation of Evaluation on Sustainable Consumption of Urban Residents in Chinaâ€, which discusses the effect of sustainable consumption on coordinated development of economics, society and environment. The source text is hence an informative text. The translator applies three rules of Skopos Theory to explore the translation on consumption economics through systematic translation strategies. In the translation process, cultural background of target readers and professional knowledge are taken into account in order to ensure faithfulness of the source text.The translation report consists of five chapters. Chapter one gives a brief introduction concerning the translation task, involving background information, client’s requirements and features of the source text. Chapter two describes the translation process in detail from preparation to proofreading, and the translator concentrate on the illustration of all difficulties during translation process. As the main body, chapter three demonstrates theoretical framework of the report — the Skopos Theory, including its origin, development and rules from academic perspective. Chapter four is the case analyses on the translation task from lexical, syntactic and textual level. Based on the reflection on the translation task, chapter five is the conclusion of the whole report and the author discusses gains and shortcomings in the translation process. |
