The Life Images In Mo Yan’s Novels And Chinese Ancient Myths

The paper is based on the "life images" of Chinese myths and Mo Yan’s novels, which is in order to explore the extension of "life images" in Mo Yan’s novels. "Gao Mi Northeast Township" is a literary geography.The place has undergone many changes from cultivation to development. What’s more, Mo Yan starts paying attention to all the lives on this land.The theme of life images are located on "Gao Mi northeast township" in Mo Yan’s novels. All the series of literary images include the "the woman is white and blind", "flood myth", "horse", "membranous web", "breast", "frog and the child", "food and sex", all of them have marks are left by Chinese myths. In other words, the life images in Mo Yan’s novels are all from his mental hometown and Chinese myths. His novels are filled with surrealism and he also create his own "life images". Then in this paper, there are three aspects. In the first place, the origin of life "Gao Mi Northeast Township" is derived from metaphorical life images in Chinese myths. Secondly, derived from reproductive worship, new life images appears. Then we can find that people’s survival desires when they face the death. The next part is the universal philosophic concept of life, through the memories in Mo Yan’s childhood, is derived from "twins image". Finally, it talks about the conversion of life forms and transmigration. Mo Yan’s novels continue myth’s magic features. The root of them is recalling our memories about Great Mother. Through all these three aspects, the paper aims at discovering the dynamic process of life.
