Around 781 AD,Chinese monk Mahayana was invited to the Tibetan Dharma from Dunhuang to teaching method of Zen. In the support of Akamatsu, Zen have made a certain development in Tibetan Empire. Many royal families become believers, both the people and bureaucratic know about it. This also gives India Buddhism by Royal support part brings great impact. About 792-- 794 AD years, Zanpu presided over a Buddhism debate between India Yoga for thought and Chinese Zen Buddhism. It’s called "meal gradually monks expostulate" in history. The core of the debate was observed in many aspects of their deeds, heart and Buddha-nature, and practice of "no respectively the different understanding of wisdom". As the represented of lotus faction,the gradually martial art originated in India Yoga meso self sustaining faction. The school believes that everyone has the Buddha nature. Focused on observation and action in practice, claim wisdom must be through a gradual learning theory. In Mahayana theory combines led north Zen Buddhism and Zen thought. The Group believes that the sentient beings have Buddha nature, as long as pay attention to their own conscience can gain wisdom. Deep analysis, two parties have different understanding of wisdom is because of differences in understanding the thought of buddhism. Therefore, understanding of Buddha nature is the key.In fact, this two different interpretations of the two kinds of Ideological and cultural systems is also the embodiment of the Tibetan ruling class power struggle. Although monk was failed l, Mahayana spread Zen thought have not been cut off. After he left Tibet, he still came back to Tibet for years and spread of Buddhism in Dunhuang. His Zen thought fusion North Zen Buddhism and the gradual enlightenment Zen epiphany. Bring his thought theory into Tibet, not only promoted the development of Tang Tubo society, promote cultural exchanges, but also laid the foundation for development of future generations of Tibetan zen. At the same time, also have certain influence on the late recognition of Tibetan Buddhism and mode of practice, such as the Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya and Jonang factions.
