Genre painting is the painting of depicting the reality and daily life scenes. It is often beyond the meaning of the purely as a work of art itself, contains a rich history, therefore,it always be treasured. Genre painting as one of the category of Chinese figure painting material, has very important influence on the Chinese art history and status. Genre painting flourished in song dynasty.In northern song dynasty,Zhang Zeduan painted 《Riverside Scene on Qingming Festival》,in southern song dynasty,the 《Itinerant Peddler》of Li song represents the customs of the song dynasty. In modern China,Chen Shizeng painted《Beijing custom Chart》, his works are rich of modern meaning and have a far-reaching influence. Feng zikai painted 《The Various Aspects of The World》later.In Contemporary painting world, Ma Haifang depicted the amorous feelings of old Beijing; Zhou Jumin depicted hundred works of the custom in Suzhou,which reduced the period of the republic and civilian life state, also has certain research value. But,the customs change at any time, what they described has always been their "reaction" state of life, far from our own time.
