Frequency adverb is an important category in the Chinese adverbial system. For Chinese learner, that is an indispensable part in Chinese Learning. Because some frequency adverbs in the syntax, semantics and usage has great similarity, Chinese learners are confused about that in the process of learning. So,they often make errors. Therefor, the study of frequency adverb is particularly important.This paper defines frequency adverbs based on summarizing the previous research results and introduces the necessity of separate classification and the the classification of frequency adverbs.This paper is based on Beijing Language and Culture University‘HSK dynamic composition corpus’to investigate ten frequency adverbs which are most used in Chinese learning.And it finally identifies six frequency adverbs to carry on an comprehensive survey with the errors,the frequency adverbs are‘changchang(常常)’,’jingchang(经常)、’yizhi(一直)’,’zongshi(总是)’,’wangwang(往往)’,’conglai(从来)’.Based on three一Plane theory,it analyzes the six frequency adverbs from the aspects of syntactic features,semantic features and pragmatic choices.Then it researches the errors of the six frequency adverbs according to the HSK dynamic composition corpus and analyzes the reason.About the teaching strategies,it makes some recommendations of the teaching design,teaching methods and attentions of teaching.
