Guo Wenjing is one of the most famous contemporary composers whose works has its own unique musical language and processing mode. He is hailed by foreign media as the only composer to gain the international prestige that who has never lived abroad for a long time and one who has remarkable instrumental technique and outpouring musical ideas that arouse people’s bewildering imagination about ancient sacrifices.This paper selects one representative national orchestral music piece of Guo Wenjing’s early works- Three pieces of music with Dian’xi folk customs, starts from its creation background and title circumstances, analysis its creation language and tries to explores the composer’s particular processing solution to instrumental technique. In chapter one, the thesis generally sketches the composer and his creation in order to comprehend the composer’s creation style and feature which provides background information to the analysis of this piece of music. In chapter two, the thesis expounds the diversified adjustments and special timbres used in this work and how to use special timbres to present the folk style in Dian’xi area. In chapter three, the thesis illustrates the pitch relations in this work and explores how it uses melodious tone to embody folk style. In chapter four, the thesis induces and summarizes the texture form and acoustic treatment. And in chapter five, it concludes the over-all structure.With multi-angle analyses that mentioned above of the three movements in Guo Wenjing’s this work, the thesis attempts to compare, analyze and interpret the unique features of musical style and instrumental technique of Guo Wenjing.
