With the continuous development of technology, people apply more and more multimedia technology into human learning, these applications have brought more abundant resources and forms into the learning and teaching field.At the same time also allow us to the design of learning materials also have larger space.In the field of multimedia learning, there are always constantly new ideas and technology.Our most concern is how to make these technologies and ideas serve learners better, bring them a better learning experience, lower cognitive load and higher learning achievement.In terms of learning experiences, we pay more attention to learners’ emotional experience, satisfaction and motivation, etc., at the same time we also pay attention to the degree of cognitive load the learning process bring to the learners, as well as in the case of both the former two, how to get higher academic achievement. This study explores the effect of the emotional design to the learners’ emotional, cognitive process and learning in multimedia learning.The study includes two experiments to explore the effect of emotional design on learning in the multimedia environment.The first study investigates the effect of two kinds of emotional design on learners’ mood and learning effect;The second study investigates the effect of two kinds of emotional design elements on learners’ mood and learning effect.Study 1 investigates the effect of two kinds of emotional design on learners’ mood, cognitive and learning effect. In the expriment 1, in order to investigate the effect of external emotion induce and internal emotional design on cognitive, emotion and multimedia learning effect, a 2 (external emotions induce:positive emotions induce VS neutral emotions induce) x 2 (internal emotional design:positive emotions design VS neutral d emotions esign) between-subjects factorial design was adopted.Basis on study 1, study 2 investigates the effect of two kinds of emotional design elements on learners’ mood, cognitive and learning effect, a 2 (color:color VS colorless) x 2 (anthropomorphism:high anthropomorphic VS low anthropomorphic) between-subjects factorial design was adopted.Research conclusion:(1) we can induce positive emotions by external emotion trigger and internal emotional design and these ways will further promote the migration of the learner’s learning.(2) the internal emotional design of the learning material can enhance learners’ learning motivation and learning satisfaction, and also can decrease the the learner’s perception of the difficulty. color design can enhance learner’s learning motivation;Under the condition of color, high anthropomorphic also can improve the learners’ learning motivation. when color and anthropomorphic were used together can improve the learner’s degree of learning satisfaction.Finally, Researcher reflect and think about the deficiencies and limitations of the research deeply from the experiment method and the design angles, and put forward the further direction for future research combining with practical application, then makes a deep exploration of the theoretical and practical significance of this research.
