With the continuous progress and development of multimedia technology,the traditional teaching mode is gradually replaced by multimedia teaching.Therefore,how to improve the effect of multimedia learning has become an important topic for researchers,and from the aspects of emotion,motivation,cognitive load and other factors affecting multimedia learning.Under the guidance of the cognitive emotion theory of multimedia learning and the principle of multimedia presentation,this study designs the emotion of multimedia learning materials,and discusses the influence and interaction of them on multimedia learning by changing the presentation of graphics and text.In order to enrich the research in the field of multimedia learning,and provide suggestions for teachers to design multimedia courseware in the teaching process.In this study,two experiments were carried out to study the learning effect,cognitive related variables and eye movement index under the influence of emotion and image and text presentation.Among them,the first study explored the influence of positive emotion,negative emotion and neutral emotion induced by external elicitation and different image and text presentation on multimedia learning effect,cognitive related variables and eye movement indicators.In the second study,based on the multimedia learning environment,different design elements are used in the multimedia learning materials to induce the positive emotion,negative emotion and neutral emotion of the learners,and the effects of different presentation modes on the multimedia learning effect,cognitive related variables and eye movement indicators are investigated.The results are as follows:(1)The results of retention test induced by external emotions were significant,and the results of positive left and right groups and positive above and below groups were the highest.There was no significant difference in cognitive load and internal motivation,and the interaction was not significant.There was no significant difference in the eye movement index under the external emotion inducing mode,and the main effect of the eye movement index in the image and text presenting mode was significant,and the interaction between the two in the number of picture fixation,the number of fixation points and the average fixation time and the average fixation time in the text area was significant.(2)The internal emotional design can effectively induce the positive and negative emotions of the subjects.The results of retention test and transfer test under the internal emotional design are significantly different,and the related cognitive load and external cognitive load are significantly different,but the internal cognitive load and internal motivation are not different.The positive emotion design group had higher retention and transfer performance,the lowest external cognitive load,but higher related cognitive load.There is a significant difference between the average fixation time of pictures and words under the internal emotional design,and the fixation time of words is longer.There was a significant difference between the retention test score and the internal cognitive load,but no difference in other learning indicators.Among them,the results of the above groups are the highest and the internal cognitive load is the lowest,followed by the left group and the right group.The interaction between internal emotion design and image and text presentation is significant in the number of picture fixation,the number of fixation points and the average fixation time,as well as the number of fixation times in the text area and the average fixation time in the text area.This study shows that in the process of multimedia learning,the best way to learn is to design the internal emotion of learning materials and use the left figure and right text or the above figure.
